Anthony's Anzac Writing

This term we have been painting about Anzac to remember those people,who had died in the WW1 and the WW2. We had to create a silhouette of the soldiers. At the background you can see the sunset come down and the earth.I really enjoy painting a silhouette based on Anzac day.I also liked I how mixed some colours to go for my sunset scene.

Here is a movie that we have created, Room 7 is practising using the Green/Blue screen. We are so proud of ourselves. Hope you enjoy!!

IN Room 7 we painted a sunset scene and cut silhouette of soldiers and pasted on our painting.

Ode of Remembrance

They shall not grow, as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. 

As the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.

Our  term 2 started with a focus on ANZAC Day because of the centennial  year of ANZAC.  We had a whole school mass in the church followed by a liturgy of remembrance at Mother Mary’s Grotto at our school.  It was a very special and solemn celebration.  I felt very moving when the last post was played.  I felt very sad for all those people who fought in wars and have died.  The white crosses that was placed in our sacred grotto made our celebration very real.

Anthony chose to illustrate David escaping from the Concentration Camp.  

The Candle Light ceremony  was very solemn and calming.  We had to light a candle and placed it around the cross in front of the altar. The candle represent our intentions for our retreat.  We prayed and ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to lead us in our retreat.  It was a great way to start our retreat.  Thanks Brother Phillip and Josephine for leading us.  From all the Year 8 2015.

YEAR 8 RETREAT.

Brother Phillip and Josephine welcomed us when we arrived at St. Francis Retreat Centre.  I was so happy and I looking forward to stay at this very huge place.   by Osca.
