Beginning of Term 2
Term 2 began with a visit from the ERO (Education Review Office) on the second term. We had a welcome in the hall. It was very formal. Ascott did a mihi (Maori welcome), Sonya did the Samoan welcome, Taiwan spoken in Tongan and Deja did the English speech.
One of the visitors spoke in Maori. She told us that St. Pius X is her first school in New Zealand. She came here when she was 5 years old. All of us were amazed and happy that she still remembered our school.
The ERO visitors stayed for 3 days. Mrs Tui was talking with them a lot of times.

Room 7 has 3 learning hubs. Each hub has its own leader and rules for how they work. This is an addition to the classroom treaty/rules. The hubs have a range of learning abilities and we based our thinking in cooperative learning. The children choose who they would work with. Everyone is responsible for each other's learning.
The Learning Hub for Week 4 is Hub 3.
Deja for the virtue of Responsibility.
